Looking around-doesn’t seem to be many places left to play-‘least not around here anyway
Don’t people like to go out and see a band anymore-D.J. in a disco seems to be such a bore
You can stay home and listen to your stereo-Or drivin’ in your car and listen to your radio
But when you want a beat-get you out-a your seat-Movin’ your feet around-
Don’t want sit down –really gotta move it-Just want to get out and listen to the music

Not so long ago-you could hear all kinds of music every place you’d go-
What happened –where did it go?--I hear people say “times are hard”-and I guess that is so
But people still go out lookin’ for fun-and tell me where do they go ?
All week long you get up go to work and do your daily grind
Go back home eat sleep get up again that’s how you spend your time
Then finally Friday comes the weekend’s here and now you want to unwind

You’re in a bar-you see a girl-she look’s real nice-You try to think of how you’re gonna break the ice
Then you hear the beat don’t have to think twice-
“Hi Hon-would you like to dance ?” ---“Sure-enough let’s go- listen to the band”
Don’t want to sit down-really gotta move it-Just want to get out and listen to the music
