John Trani grew up listening to a wide range of music, from his guitar idol, the great Chet Atkins, to Chuck Berry, the Everley Brothers and all of the founding rock and roll icons. Classical, country, jazz, and Italian music were also shared by his family’s divergent musical tastes, adding further variety to his musical appreciation and interest. The Beatles had undoubtedly the greatest lasting major influence on his songwriting technique and sentiment. While performing in various musical venues and teaching music as his sole sources of income for over twenty years, he developed his technique on guitar, bass, and keyboards, and occasionally added mandolin and harmonica as well. Having written over fifty songs over his musical career-both vocal and instrumental, he remains hopeful of landing that one “lucky break” to open the doors to the exposure that all songwriters dream of. He welcomes you to this site and hopes that you enjoy his songs as much as he enjoyed writing and performing them.
